Sioux Falls man arrested for impersonating a police officer

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- He’s charged with impersonating a police officer.

Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a woman noticed she was being followed in her car, and stopped to confront the man behind her.

44-year old Ronald Steef of Sioux Falls claimed to be an officer, but failed to show his badge before speeding off.

The victims were able to get enough information for police to make an arrest.

What should you do if you’re being followed?

Safety is the top priority…so call police.

And, if you can’t call, Officer Clemens has some advice.

Stay away from isolated, dark neighborhood streets and go to a populated area.
