SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday morning, Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken announced he will be endorsing Governor Rhoden for reelection.
TenHaken praised Governor Rhoden’s character.
TenHaken discussed a bill passed by the South Dakota Legislature that dealt with a possible city sales tax for major projects.
Governor Rhoden thanked TenHaken for his endorsement.
Rhoden talked about the state needing to expand their economy beyond just agriculture.
Over the last eighteen months, Mayor TenHaken has worked in conjunction with the Governor on a variety of projects including the new mens prison, Smithfield plant, and improvements to the Sioux Falls Airport.
Gubernatorial candidate Toby Doeden responded by saying “like the majority of people supporting Larry’s campaign, Paul is a closet Democrat,” as evidenced by his not publicly supporting Erickson over Smith.
“He has never spoken to me,” Doeden said. “Doesn’t know me, my family, or anyone around me.”
