SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls Regional Airport is seeing a 50 percent or more reduction in passenger volume since the Coronavirus Crisis kicked in.
Airport Manager Dan Letiller says the decline could grow bigger in the coming weeks. He says the 50 percent decline equates to the loss of 2,000 in-bound and out-bound passengers a day.
No additional precautions or changes at the airport itself.
“Airport employees continue to work on disinfecting all public contact areas and our TSA and airline partners are doing the same in the screening areas and onboard aircraft,” Letiller said.
The flight schedules remain the same, but Letiller expects schedule reductions to be rolled-out by the airlines in a few days, especially for the April and May timeframe.
