SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – Sioux Falls Washington High School Teacher Allison Ter Horst has won the Oscar of Teaching, the annual Milken Educator Award.

It’s too early to say what she’ll do with the $25,000 dollars she receives for winning the award. She said receiving the money is a blessing.

Ter Horst says someone saying you changed their life is worth more than money.

She’s the only Milken Award winner in South Dakota.
