Sioux Falls woman facing charges following vehicle scam

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- A Sioux Falls woman faces a long list of charges after trying to flee from police.

Police say 40-year-old Leslie Epling, had reportedly been buying used cars with fraudulent checks and then quickly selling them on Facebook Marketplace.

Police had set up a sting operation to catch Epling.

Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Phillips says they thought they had her trapped at the Garden Center outside Lewis Drug Store on 10th and Cliff.

Epling was arrested along with three accomplices on a number of theft, property damage and drug charges.
