ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The civil defense sirens were sounded Saturday night during a storm that moved into the area.
Brown County Emergency Management Director Scott Meints said a big reason why the sirens were used was because of a large number of people outdoors celebrating the Fourth of July.
Meints said sometimes it can be difficult to know exactly when to sound the alarm, but there are certain conditions that will automatically call for the use of the sirens.
