PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – A flare up of coronavirus cases at the Smithfield Foods plant in Sioux Falls has the State stepping up surveillance and testing.
Governor Kristi Noem says state health officials are in contact with workers in the plant.
Noem says they want to make sure the important information goes home with the workers.
Noem also made another declaration.
As of Friday the state has now recorded 536 cases, with 352 in Minnehaha County. The state also has 7,111 negative tests and 177 recoveries.
Brown County remained at 14 positive tests and nine recoveries.
