Sturgis Post 33 Titans   3

[Single game – Game two cancelled due to a long rain delay in game one]

  • Out west in Sturgis, the Aberdeen Smittys once again brought their offense when it counted the most, down the stretch. The Post 33 squad took a 3-0 lead over Aberdeen after the first three innings and then the Smittys would start to find their offensive way. Putting up 12 runs over the course of the final four innings. On the hill, Drew Salfrank earned the win going four and two thirds and striking out three Titans. Offensively, Casey Vining was locked and loaded; he went 4-4 with a pair of runs scored and 4RBI. Not too far off, Zane Backous was 3-5 with two runs scored and he also knocked in three. For good measure, Drew Salfrank & Jaden Smith added an RBI, each. The Aberdeen offense cranked out 14 hits in the nine run victory & more importantly, committed zero errors in the field.

  • The Smittys were supposed to play a doubleheader, but a long rain delay forced the second contest to be cancelled and Aberdeen traveled back to the Hub City, going 2-1 on their west river road trip. Once again, the Smittys will welcome in Mitchell Post 18 on Friday for a Military Appreciation doubleheader at 5p. Admission is free for active military and veterans.
