ABERDEEN, SD (HubCityRadio.com) – The Aberdeen Smittys offense exploded to the tune of 17 runs on Monday night at Fossum Field, en route to their first win of the 2025 legion baseball season.

On the mound, Joran Foss picked up the win, going four innings and scattering four hits, and only one earned run, while striking out seven Post 39 hitters.

At the dish, Joe Cogley went 2-5 and drove in five runs. Jehiel Aviles was steady at the plate, going 3-3 with a pair of walks & touching home plate three times.

Following the win, head coach Nathan Gonnelly said, “the first couple innings for us, we’ve come out slow, but being in a nine inning game, we had time to let it develop and put up some crooked numbers and good at bats…but we need to come out like our hair is on fire…we’re focusing on being competitive from the start.”

The Smittys return to the diamond on the road against the Senior Legion Post 74 Bandits for a doubleheader on Thursday at five & seven in the evening.
