PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Wednesday, the Medical Marijuana Subcommittee meant at the state capital. The focus of the meeting was on the administrative rules to apply for medical marijuana or cannabis. Department of Health Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon talked about the rules to apply.
State Health Department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon says they have been working to find a company that will handle the necessary medical cannabis cards users will need.
Malsam-Rysdon says they hope to have that system in place by their deadline.
Malsam-Rysdon says they are also getting the rules in place.
The public hearing on the medical marijuana rules will be August 18th in Pierre.
Chairman, Senator Bryan Breitling of Miller, told the group that all the subgroups should have a plan before their next full committee meeting.
Breitling says there will be a one day special session in September.
Breitling says it will be difficult to get much passed on that one day.
