South Dakota 9th most charitable state in the nation

MITCHELL, S.D.(KMIT)- Americans donate around $500 billion per year to charity, and the personal finance website Wallethub has released its report on the most charitable states for 2024.  Cassie Happe (happy) says South Dakota is the 9th most charitable state.

The state also ranked third in percentage of donated income, fifth in volunteer rate, and eighth in charities per capita.  She says the Midwest overall did well in the survey.
