PIERRE, S.D.(JOster)- The South Dakota Board of Technical Education approved their budget request that will go to the Governor and the 2024 legislature.
Executive Director Nick Wendell says they are looking for a modest increase.
Wendell says they will ask that tuition and fees are frozen for a third year.
In the current budget, the the schools were budgeted over nine million dollars in one time funding for equipment.
Wendell says he is proposing an ongoing budget for future equipment needs.
Last years total budget for the four technical schools was forty seven point seven million dollars, the proposal for
next year is forty seven point nine million dollars.
