South Dakota Board of Water & Natural Resources approves over $1 billion for water projects

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Board of Water and Natural Resources has approved over one point one billion dollars in funding for over ninety water and wastewater projects across the state.

Department of Ag and Natural Resources Secretary Hunter Roberts says its applying huge amounts of federal funding.

Roberts says these are long life investments.

Roberts says projects were approved on a priority basis.

The one point one billion dollars includes over four hundred million dollars in grants and six hundred eighty-eight million in low interest loans.

Roberts says they have until 2026 to spend all the funds.
