South Dakota Democratic Party leader leaving for national position

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The Executive Director of the South Dakota Democratic Party is leaving for a position with the national party.

Sam Parkinson says he will be the Western Regional Representative of the Association of State Democratic Committees.

Parkinson says he will be ranging over a wide area of the western part of the country.

Parkinson says his experience in South Dakota will help.

Parkinson was with the party for four years, first as financial director before becoming executive director.
