PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Department of Revenue will be able to upgrade the computer system they use for licensing cars, after approval of the spending by the legislature and the Governor.

Department Secretary Mike Houdyshell spoke to the state Lottery Board last week and  had an update.

Houdyshell says they have been planning for a while.

Houdyshell says it will take a while to build and implement.

Their system is connected to county treasurers’ offices across the state.
