South Dakota Farm Bureau app period open For health care plan

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota Farm Bureau members can now apply for Health Care Coverage through plans offered by the Farm Bureau. Coverage will begin January 1. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says they worked with the Governor and legislature to receive the approval to offer the health plan.

He says those interested in the program should call the South Dakota Farm Bureau state office.

VanderWal says health care costs have been astronomical for farmers and ranchers and there were many either left uncovered or covered at a very high rate under the affordable care act, so that prompted the need for this plan.

The South Dakota Farm Bureau Health Care plan includes a national network of providers through United Health Care Choice Plus. For more information just log onto LiveWellSD.com.
