South Dakota Farmers Union call for moratorium on Carbon Capture Pipeline

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- The South Dakota Farmers Union is calling for a moratorium on Carbon Capture Pipelines.
Summit Carbon Solutions has condemned land owned by former State Legislator Craig Schaunaman of Brown County.
Schaunaman was also the state Farm Services Administrator under the Obama Administration.

He believes eminent domain powers don’t belong in the hands of private companies.

That comes as opponents to the pipelines have called for a special session of the South Dakota legislature to try to change eminent domain powers given to the pipeline companies.

Schaunaman of Brown county believes a moratorium is the next best thing.

Schaunaman appeared on “It’s Your Business” with Bill Zortman along with National Farmers Union president Rob Larew.

State Farmers union President Doug Sombke is also calling for a moratorium on the C0-2 pipelines.
