ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio) – On Thursday, South Dakota’s largest family farmer and rancher organization, the South Dakota Farmers Union, urges those who care about property rights to vote “no” on Referred Law 21 (RL21).
President Doug Sombke talks about their concerns they have had since SB201 was passed by the legislature earlier this year.
Sombke inform the public what he believe will be the actual impact to the South Dakota ethanol industry.
Sombke express frustration about a lack of invite by the South Dakota Legislature to address this issue this past session.
Among those in support of Referred Law 21, back then SB201 was the South Dakota Farm Bureau. they believe that counties can still have a final say by proving their setbacks to the SD Public Utilities Commission. Sombke disputes those claims.
Sombke explains that the Farmers Union are in support of ethanol and gave an example of what they would like to see in the next Farm Bill.
SDFU has been opposed to this all along this past Tuesday was the date that they made if official. Sombke explains why they waited to release it now.
Sombke discuss how they will campaign between now and Election Day.
Early voting is happening now until Monday, November 5th by 5pm. Polls will be open on Election Day from 7am-7pm.
