RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- Pauline Sumption, Rapid City finance director, has been named finance officer of the year by the South Dakota Governmental Finance Officers Association.
Sumption has worked with Rapid City Municipal Government for over a decade now, and explained the scope of her duties.
Sumption said she was “overwhelmed” by the recognition, but was fast to point to the work done by municipal officials all over the state.
City communications director Darryl Shoemaker said Sumption plays a unique role as a “financial guidepost”, providing non-political financial advice to elected officials.
Sumption wanted the public to know about municipal government.
Sumption thanked those who nominated her and “the city that gave me so much” during the interview.
