South Dakota hits 10,000 cases of COVID, adds two new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – South Dakota surpassed the 10,000 mark of confirmed COVID-19 cases and had two new deaths, according to information released from the State Department of Health today.

The new deaths bring the overall total to 150. The state had 127 new confirmed cases, bringing the overall total to 10,024. South Dakota also had 82 more recoveries, leaving the state with 1,101 active infections. The state has had 8,773 total recoveries and 126,014 negative tests. There are currently 65 people hospitalized because of the virus.

Locally, Brown County had seven new cases and four new recoveries, moving the active cases to 44. The county has had 463 total confirmed cases, 416 recoveries, and three deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 4,561 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 924, Lincoln County with 687, and Beadle County with 596.
