PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The State of South Dakota is joining 16 other states in challenging election results in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia.
The lawsuit, started by the State of Texas, is asking the US Supreme Court to extend the Dec. 14 deadline for certifying the election results.
South Dakota Republican Party Chairman Dan Lederman says there are grounds for the legal action.
Lederman says other actions by vote counters in Pennsylvania need to be investigated.
Lederman says its reasonable for South Dakota to join the suit.
Presidential electors are scheduled to meet in most states on Monday to cast their states votes for President.
