PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- Lawmakers aren’t the only ones preparing for the upcoming legislative session.  Various organizations are reading up on proposed legislation and preparing positions to lobby their causes.  South Dakota Municipal League Executive Director David Reiss says he’s heard various concerns from the cities and towns he represents.

Reiss says the Municipal League will support legislation to amend South Dakota bid thresholds on surplus property.

Reiss says they will also support new alternates to the traditional printing of legal notices in newspapers.

Reiss says the Municipal League will oppose any issue that creates additional  exemptions or changes to state sales tax statues or city revenues.
