PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- The South Dakota Municipal League is in the process of hosting District meeting across South Dakota. Those come at the conclusion of this year’s legislative session and is giving new Executive Director David Reiss a chance to connect with the League’s members.
One bill supported by the Municipal League would have allowed municipalities to increase their occupancy tax up to four-percent. It was one of five bills to find a veto.
Reiss says while the general sales tax cut won’t impact cities and towns, tax cuts in general will raise an eyebrow or two for the Municipal League.
Reiss took over as Executive Director in January from Yvonne Taylor after 26 years with the Municipal League.
