South Dakota Public Utilities Commission voted to allow South Dakota Hutterian Cooperative not to have a grain buyers license until 2023

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission voted to allow an Aberdeen based co-op to be exempt from having a grain buyers license until next year.

Julie Dvorak, a lawyer for the South Dakota Hutterian Cooperative said it’s a unique situation.

The co-op has been selling soybeans to AGP for years without a license.

PUC Grain Warehouse Manager Cody Chambliss says this was a first.

Commission Chairman Chris Nelson made the motion to waive the license requirement until next summer.

The commission supported that motion on a three to zero vote.
