AVON, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission was appointed as the receiver of the Farmers Cooperative Elevator in Avon last July after the elevator lost its bond.
Cody Chambliss, PUC grain warehouse manager, told the commission they have made progress in paying most of the producers that sold grain to the elevator.
Chambliss says they made payments based on the contracts in effect on July first.
Chambliss says they have narrowed down the money owed.
Farmers Pride Cooperative of Battle Creek Nebraska then leased the elevator in September.
