CANTON, S.D.(KELO)- On Friday, Navigator announced that they are now cancelling their CO2 pipeline project. District 16 Representative Karla Lems whose pipeline was planned to go through their farmland reacted to it.
Lems declare this a victory for South Dakota landowners.
Lems ponder what POET will do now that there is no pipeline connected to it for now.
Lems acknowledge that other companies who might want to install CO2 pipelines could make offers here in the state.
Despite Navigator cancelling the pipeline project, Lems still believe that eminent domain reform needs to be address by the South Dakota Legislature.
Summit Carbon Solutions announced that they are still pursuing their pipeline request & a portion of it would go over Representative Lems’ property.
