South Dakota State Fair adapts to COVID-19

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A South Dakota State Fair like no other ended on a drizzly Labor Day in Huron.

The weather was a minor challenge compared to dealing with COVID-19.

Surrounding states did not have state fairs this year because of COVID concerns, but this fair’s Assistant Manager Candi Briley says it was therapeutic for South Dakotans.

Briley says COVID safety precautions were well-used.

Briley says it’s too early for the official numbers to tell how fair turnout this year compared with past fairs.
