South Dakota State Retirement system had a good 2020 year

PIERRE, S.D.- The South Dakota State Retirement System had a very good year and is fully funded.

Executive Director Travis Almond gave a report to the legislatures Executive Board last week.

Almond says they plan to stay fully funded.

Almond says they have spent considerable time coming up with a contingency plan if investments fall.

The retirement fund now totals fourteen point six billion dollars, up twenty two percent from last year’s finish of nearly twelve point three billion dollars.
