South Dakota Stockgrowers Association express concerns about the Cattle Contract Library Act

RAPID CITY, S.D.(KOTA)- A sharply worded letter was shared with South Dakota editors regarding the recently-introduced Cattle Contract Library Act of 2021 (H.R.5609) from South Dakota Stockgrowers Association President Vaughn Meyer, policy introduced by South Dakota Republican representative Dusty Johnson.

SDSGA Executive Director James Halverson laid out the issue some have taken with the proposal.

Halverson, citing bill S.949 introduced by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley and co-sponsored South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds, said better legislation is worth fighting for.

Halverson shared the urgency the SDSGA feels regarding this issue.

The South Dakota Stockgrowers Association is officially an apolitical organization, and Halverson said their primary goal is to encourage positive change for the cattle industry.
