PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- South Dakota voters will again have the chance to decide on the legalization of recreational marijuana.
The Secretary of State’s office this week certified the petition signatures needed to get the initiative on the November ballot.
Matthew Schweich with “South Dakotans for Better Marijuana Laws” says it took a lot of work.
Schweich says they spent almost all of their budget in getting the signatures.
Schweich says despite the big win in 2020, they will be out pushing their issue.
This will be on the ballot as an initiative rather than a constitutional amendment that was approved in 2020 and later struck down by the state Supreme Court.
