ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- South Dakota’s AARP Director Erik Gaikowski discuss various topics during his appearance on the KSDN Midday Report.
2026 Elections:
Gaikowski reflect on issues they were looking at prior to the 2026 South Dakota Primary. One dealing with the issue of the continued fraud and scams affecting seniors.
Gaikowski also addressed home care for seniors.
Gaikowski also informed us that they are keeping an eye on the Governor’s runoff election coming up on July 28th.
Scams/Fraud:
Another topic of concern for seniors are scams and fraud. Gaikowski addressed a bill passed this year by the South Dakota Legislature addressing crypto kiosks.
Gaikowski also offer recommendations on ways to prevent being scammed.
Congress/Social Security:
One of the biggest concerns happening for seniors and those approaching that age is the status of social security. If not addressed, it could potentially become solvent in 2034.
Gaikowski discuss how important social security is to the seniors in South Dakota.
