MARION, S.D.(WNAX)- The damage assessments and recovery continue from the derecho that hit much of the region earlier this month.

Brad Schardin, manager of Southeastern Electric based in Marion says they took a double hit.

Schardin says they made repairs from the Wednesday storm.

Schardin says about half their system was down during the worst of the storm.

Schardin says some of the repairs were temporary, and it may take most of the summer to make more permanent fixes.
