ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- The Speaker of the South Dakota House and candidate for Governor of the state of South Dakota, Jon Hansen was in Aberdeen this week. HubCityRadio had an opportunity to do an interview with him to address several different topics.
Hansen was asked about the newest member of the South Dakota House, Nick Fosness representing District 1.
Hansen also served as a committee member for Prison Reset Task Force. There’s a special session coming up on September 23rd to address the funding needed for the mens prison. He indicate that a lot of work still needs to be done prior to that session.
Hansen was in Aberdeen for the Property Tax Task Force that was in Aberdeen on Tuesday & Wednesday. Hansen talks about what he’s learn so far from stops made in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, and Aberdeen.
Hansen discuss the impact property tax increases are also have to the young people in the state.
Hansen was asked how to best address property tax bills that is most fair for all counties in the state.
Hansen address the pending amendment looking to replace property taxes with the transaction tax.
Hansen also stopped at the Brown County Fair Wednesday as part of candidacy for Governor of South Dakota. He was asked what he’s been hearing from citizens across the state.
