PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – The Executive Board of the South Dakota legislature set up interim topics and committees for summer studies.
One mandated study will be on special education. Senator Jim Bolin of Canton says it is a continuation.
Bolin says they are looking for wide representation.
Another study will look at offenses related to controlled substances. The E-Board set up a subcommittee to look specifically at meth addiction. Representative Sue Peterson of Sioux Falls says it needs more attention.
Peterson says meth needs the narrow focus.
Other studies will look at industrial hemp, electric service areas and mental health access.
