Special education study committee ready to make recommendations

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – An interim South Dakota legislative committee studying special education is ready to turn over some recommendations to the Executive Board.

Committee Vice Chair, Senator Jim Bolin of Canton outlined some of the areas of agreement.

Representative Ray Ring of Vermillion says more money will be needed to address the issue.

Committee Chair, Representative Nancy Rasmussen of Hurley says they got financial information too late to use in their meetings.

Rasmussen appointed a subcommittee to prepare their report for the Executive Board. The E-Board will meet today and Tuesday.
