Special Session to talk about the impeachment of Jason Ravnsborg set for November 9th

PIERRE, S.D.(Press Release)-  The South Dakota Legislature will be meeting on November 9th to discuss impeachment proceeding involving the South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg.

Here is the official proclamation:

“Members of the Ninety-Sixth Legislature, you are called to the chambers of the Senate and House of Representatives at the Capitol, city of Pierre, South Dakota, for a special session of the Legislature, to be convened at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the ninth day of November 2021.

The sole purposes of the special session are to investigate and evaluate whether the conduct of Jason Ravnsborg, Attorney General of the state of South Dakota, surrounding the death of Joe Boever, involved impeachable offenses, pursuant to Article XVI, Section 3 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, and if so, to conduct further impeachment proceedings thereon and legislate on matters involving the attorney general’s office.

NOW, THEREFORE, We, Senator Lee Schoenbeck, President Pro Tempore of the South Dakota Senate, and Representative Spencer Gosch, Speaker of the South Dakota House of Representatives, being in receipt of written petitions signed by two-thirds of the members of each House of the Legislature, do hereby proclaim and convene the Legislature in special session, under the authority vested in us pursuant to Article III, Section 31 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, to enact or amend laws, approve resolutions, and to take such action as the Legislature deems, in its collective judgment, necessary to satisfy the purposes specified in this proclamation.:
