Spink County landowners react to comments made by Glacial Lakes CEO

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Monday’s KSDN Midday Report, we had an opportunity to speak with Glacial Lakes CEO Jim Seurer to get their perspective on the 2024 legislative session.  A pair of landowners from Spink County heard the interview and was given a platform to respond to what he said.

Leroy Braun, who is also a stockholder for Glacial Lakes Energy counter the arguments that majority of stockholder were in favor of the pipelines.

Ed Fischbach counter the argument that Glacial Lakes needs the pipelines in order to survive in the state.

Fischbach discuss the issue of eminent domain that Seurer said they are in general oppose using only as a last resort.

Braun believes the ethanol industries will continue to be around for many years to come.

Fischbach inform the public the percentage of investors from Glacial Lakes Energy that are in support of SB201.

Both Braun & Fischbach looked at the Landowner’s Bill of Rights approved by the legislators.  Braun express one of the rights mentioned in it.

Fischbach believe these bill of rights were actually written by the people from Summit Carbon Solutions.

A group will be holding a rally Monday at the State Capitol talking about the referendum to repeal SB201.  Fischbach talks about what could be the benefit of the rally.

Braun addressed what the role of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission will be going forward.

SB201 goes into effect on July 1st.
