PIERRE, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- On Tuesday, members of Northern State University testified in front of the Joint Committee on Appropriations.

NSU President Neal Schnoor talks about the enrollment at the college.

Schnoor also discuss the retention rate at the school.

One study is showing that one in three high school graduates are not attending college.  Schnoor discuss a way that NSU is trying to improve that.

Schnoor talks about another mission that NSU is doing.

Vice President of Finance at NSU, Veronica Paulson talks about the teacher shortage at the school.

Paulson provide an update on NSU’s budget for fiscal year 2024.

President Schnoor was asked by one of the committee members about how NSU is helping the students at Presentation after learning they will be closing after the summer semester.

On Tuesday, NSU reached a teach-out agreement with Presentation College.
