PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state added 10 more COVID-related deaths, while active infections and hospitalizations continued to drop according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The deaths (which included two in Brown County) brought the state’s overall death toll to 1,614. There were 317 new confirmed cases and 341 recoveries, lowering the amount of active cases to 4,728. There were six less people hospitalized in connection with the virus lowering that total to 247.
In all, South Dakota has had 104,512 confirmed cases and 98,170 recoveries.
Locally, Brown County had 18 new confirmed cases and 17 recoveries, increasing the amount of active infections by one to 265. So far, the county has had 4,723 confirmed cases and 4,390 recoveries. There have been 70 deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 26,189 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 11,931, and Lincoln County with 7,162. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,641, Brookings with 3,254, Davison with 2,834, Lawrence with 2,675, and Yankton with 2,607.
