State adds 14 more COVID-related deaths, one each in Marshall, McPherson

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state added 14 more COVID-related deaths, including one each in Marshall and McPherson counties, and reported 541 more active infections in totals released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The deaths (which also included three in both Minnehaha and Turner counties, two in Pennington, and one each in Beadle, Codington, Custer, and Kingsbury) bring the state’s death toll to 460. South Dakota also reported 923 new confirmed cases and 382 new recoveries, pushing the amount of active cases to 13,908 (there were 11,933 one week ago).

In all, the state has had 49,791 confirmed cases and 35,423 recoveries. There are currently 483 individuals hospitalized in connection with the virus.

Locally, Brown County had 17 new confirmed cases and 19 new recoveries, lowering the amount of active infections to 480. The county has had 2,330 total confirmed cases, 1,844 recoveries, and six COVID-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 13,186 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 5,181, and Lincoln County with 3,367. Other counties totals include Codington with 1,755, Brookings with 1,601, Beadle with 1,479, Davison with 1,202, Lawrence with 1,155, Oglala Lakota with 1,121, and Bon Homme with 1,102.
