State budget on track due to reduced spending

PLATTE, S.D. (WNAX) – Taxes and spending, as always, will come together for the 2020 South Dakota legislature.

House Majority Leader Lee Qualm of Platte says ag leads the way good and bad.

Qualm says the state budget is on track mostly due to reduced spending.

A change in federal law will eliminate state taxes on internet services. Qualm says that could open a big hole.

Governor Kristi Noem will deliver her budget address on Dec. 2.
