PIERRE, S.D. (DRG News) – Nationally, today is known as Giving Tuesday. In South Dakota, it’s the 3rd annual “South Dakota Day of Giving.”

South Dakota Community Foundation Community Development Coordinator Jamie Farmen says whether its animals or art, food or farming, veterans or voting, there’s a non-profit organization hoping to put your donation to good use.

Farmen says the state Community Foundation has issued a challenge to its Community Savings Account partners.

She says people can find listings for the various Community Savings Accounts on the SD Community Foundation website.

When it comes to giving to your favorite causes, Farmen says it isn’t just about money.

Over 400 nonprofits in the state are participating in South Dakota’s Day of Giving on #GivingTuesday.
