PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – When all the budget pieces came together for state lawmakers last week, they were able to find the money for two percent increases to schools, Medicaid providers and state workers.
Eric Olilla, Executive Director of the South Dakota State Employees Organization, says it was a nice finish.
Ollila says they also say legislators fill in the healthcare coverage gap.
Ollila says the healthcare plan will be studied again this year.
Legislators found an extra $19 million to fund the increases.
