PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state saw a slight increase in active COVID-19 infections and one new death in numbers released by the South Dakota Department of Health today.
The state reported 80 new cases and 71 new recoveries, raising the total of active cases to 873 (there were 817 one week ago). The new death moved the state’s overall total to 130.
Overall, South Dakota has had 8,764 confirmed cases, 7,761 recoveries, and 102,871 negative tests. There are currently 31 hospitalizations associated with the virus.
Locally, Brown County reported two new cases and three new recoveries, lowering the active cases to 31. The county has had 397 total confirmed cases, 363 recoveries, 4,065 negative tests, and three deaths.
Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 4,150 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 811, Beadle County with 586, and Lincoln County with 542.
