State of South Dakota awards broadband grants to companies working in rural communities

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The State of South Dakota has awarded the next round of broadband grants to help companies expand services to rural parts of the state.

Jeff Symens, manager of Valley FiberCom says they got a one point five million dollar grant to continue their expansions in rural Brookings, Kingsbury and Moody Counties.

Symens says its part of an expensive project.

Symens says they will be able to provide a wide range of services.

Symens says this project is expanding services to about twenty five hundred rural customers.
