ABERDEEN, S.D. (Press Release) – In an effort to continue to meet the medical needs of the community and its patients, the physicians throughout State Street Medical Square have restructured into four clinics.
Dividing the building into four separate areas will help with patient flow and health. With the change, State Street Medical Square will be split into the following clinic areas:
- Main Clinic, for urgent and emergent visits that are not respiratory
- Pediatric Wellcheck Clinic
- Adult Maintenance, for maintenance labs and routine injections
- Respiratory Clinic, for cough and cold symptoms
Patients for each clinic will use separate entrances.
All physicians within the facility will also move into a team-based approach, which means each will only staff one clinic. This might mean patients get quality care from a physician that is not their typical primary care provider. Physicians will also rotate through staffing their respective clinics to limit any potential exposures and the spread of COVID-19.
To help protect both patients and providers, adult rechecks and preventative medicine will not be able to be seen in person. Soon and when at all possible, patients and physicians will connect through virtual visits.
The restructuring at State Street Medical Square became effective Monday, March 30 when clinic across the Avera footprint moved from Level 1 to Level 2 operations.
