State tax revenues will probably fall short at end of fiscal year

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – State tax revenues are flat in South Dakota and will probably fall short at the end of the fiscal year.

Tamara Darnell, Chief Fiscal & Program Analyst for the Legislative Research Council, gave an update to the legislature’s Executive Board.

Darnell says it is unlikely the state will hit budget goals by June 30, which is also the end of the fiscal year.

Darnell also provided information to the Board about ongoing federal coronavirus funding programs.
