State universities trying to reverse trend of falling student numbers

BROOKINGS, S.D. (WNAX) – A continuing trend of falling student numbers at South Dakota’s universities will have a bottom-line impact.

South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn says they are feeling it.

Dunn says some of their initial recruitment targets are in Sioux Falls.

Dunn says they also promote the long term return of higher education.

Dunn says that is why their priority this legislative session is getting the needs based “Dakota’s Promise” scholarship program passed.
