State’s active COVID-19 cases drop by 22; no new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The state’s number of active COVID-19 infections dropped by 22 today according to numbers released by the South Dakota Department of Health.

There were 48 new confirmed cases to go along with 70 new recoveries, lowering the active cases to 895 (there were 820 one week ago). The state’s total death number remained the same at 123.

So far, South Dakota has had 8,492 confirmed cases, 7,474 recoveries, and 98,999 negative tests. There are 49 current hospitalizations because of the virus.

Locally, Brown County has six new cases and one new recovery, increasing the amount of active infections to 25. In all, the county has had 385 confirmed cases, 358 recoveries, 3,946 negative tests and two deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 4,058 total confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 787, Beadle County with 583, and Lincoln County with 497.
