State’s active COVID-19 cases drop by 54

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The number of active COVID-19 cases in South Dakota dropped by 54 according to statistics released by the State Department of Health on Tuesday.

There were 33 new confirmed cases and also 87 new recoveries. Today’s total also included 1,152 new negative tests.

The total deaths in the state remained at 62, while hospitalizations went up two to 89.

Locally, there were six new confirmed cases in Brown County as well as six new recoveries, keeping the amount of active cases at 61. There were also 34 new negative cases. Of the 161 cases associated with the DemKota Ranch Beef Plant, 135 have recovered.

Statewide totals include 5,067 confirmed cases, 1,015 active cases, 3,990 recoveries, and 41,779 negative cases.

Brown County’s overall totals include 281 confirmed cases, 61 active cases, 219 recoveries, and 1,566 negative cases.

Minnehaha County leads the state with 3,362 confirmed cases. Beadle County has 276, Pennington County 241, and Lincoln County 239.
